Forensic or Legal Medicine deals with the application of medical knowledge to aid in the administration of justice. It is used by legal authorities for the solution of legal problems. Examples include applying medical knowledge in deciding cases of injuries, murder, suicide, accident, asphyxial deaths, sexual offenses, and poisoning.
The department has a well-equipped museum. Various charts, specimens, and food grains of nutritive importance are kept in the museum. In the demonstration room, many health education charts and boards are displayed.
